  • ¬†Organization is important

Now, we have the entire family using the living room. Sure and if we have children, toys are about anywhere. Storage and organization become important to make the living room neat and tiddy. If I have a guest, a close friend at home, it is okay for him to play with our kids’ toy a little bit. Well if¬† a car toy has been left on the table. Things can be different is we welcome guest for our bussiness purpose. That’s far from being proffessional.

It is maybe better to have furniture pieces with built-in storage. Such furniture helps us to oirganize anything better.

  • Maximize floor plan and have some space for playing

What we mean is more on maximizing empty floor plan for playing. Yes, empty floor can be used by kids for anything they want. We as grown up usually like to sit on the sofa.

If not, we can opt for lower furniture.

  • Make the furniture low

Low furniture makes us closer to our children. And that’s a great thing. Having low furniture also can make children climb into sofa and other seating easier. They also can sleep on the sofa when they feel tired. It is always fun to have low furniture that can better accommodate anyone.

  • Use soft edged furniture

With kids sometimes running in the living room, we need safe furniture pieces. Stool table with upholstery is better than wooden table. Also, fully upholstered sofa is better than sofa with wooden legs.

  • Use sofa covers

If you really do not want to deal with stains. use sofa covers and also covers for armchairs. We can wash the covers instead of cleaning the upholstery directly. It is more practical and is not expensive option. However, we may not get the look of the original sofa and armchair anymore.

  • Make space for pets

Kids usually love our pet and may want to bring the pet to the living room. But pets would be better in the living room with their own space. A small “cabin” for dog in the living room is much better for the owner and the dog than sofa.

Also, you can add scratching post if you have cat. It is a small investment compare to your sofa and other furniture pieces
